There’s no shortage of online shops. There’s a shortage of time to find the good, local ones. Our Town does that part for you: we pull together genuine South African makers and sellers, in one place, priced in rand.
Why local only
Plenty of international shops will happily show you a rand price and ship to your door. That’s not the same as shopping local. So a ZAR price tag isn’t enough to make it onto Our Town — every one of our 58 sellers is a verified South African store. When you buy here, the money stays here.
The checkout
One cart here. A quick checkout on each maker’s own store.
We’re a shopfront, not a middleman. You browse every maker and fill a single basket — then, when it’s time to pay, we send you straight to each seller to finish up. Here’s the whole flow.
Fill one cart
Mix goods from any of our verified makers into a single basket — biltong, ceramics and rooibos together, no juggling tabs.
We hand you off
At checkout we split your basket by maker and send you to each one's own store, with their items already in the cart.
Pay on their store
You finish on each maker's own shop. Your card and delivery details go straight to them — they never pass through us.
We never see your card
Payment happens on the maker's own store, not on Our Town. We don't take the money — they do.

Priced in rand, final
No currency conversion at the till. The rand price you see is the price you pay.
Each maker ships their own
Delivery is arranged by the seller, from their own South African store — so it's local all the way through.
